Learning and Growing Together

Weekly Family News

Ms. Andrea
Wow, week 2! You should be proud of how our students are showing up this year already! Our attendance is looking great and students are accumulating so many positive affirmations every single day!

This week, we are sending home our first PREP reports. We are adding these this year because we want to be able to communicate with families regularly about how students are doing in class. We hope you find them informative and find ways to celebrate your student's success at home. We expect that there may be questions about these reports in the first few weeks. Please reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions about the report.

We are raising the bar for our students this year and they are showing up in a big way! Please encourage them to keep showing up every day ready to learn and make great choices!

PREP report

Student PREP Reports

Today, your student will be bringing home their first PREP report of the year. This report will show you how their week went, where they earned positive affirmations and where they may have had struggles making good choices.

Here's what you should know about the reports:
  • Students earn points by being in school on time and in uniform each day.
  • Our report "week" starts on a Friday and runs through Thursday.
  • Points can be entered by many different staff members, not just your student's teacher.
  • It is very normal for students to have both positive and negative marks on their report. Our students are still learning and mistakes are to be expected, especially so early in the year.
  • Students who earn multiple negative accountabilities in one day will likely serve a lunch detention the following day.
  • Lunch detention means students will not be eating with their classmates, but will eat in a separate space with the Behavior Support Team. Our goal is to have students reflect on their actions and hopefully rejoin their classmates during their next lunch. Students who do not follow the detention expectations may have additional consequences.

If you have any questions about your student's report, please start by contacting their teacher. Our goal is to share information with families on a regular basis about how your child is doing so you can see their strengths and areas we are still working on.

If your student does not bring home a report, please contact their teacher or the main office to have a new copy sent. These reports will come home each Friday.

Thank you for supporting our work to help our students make positive choices to set themselves up for success!
