Northeast College Prep Family News - September 6th

We have just finished our first week of school for the 2024-2025 school year! It has been such a joy to see students and their families in our hallways and classrooms again.

Thank you for your patience as we navigate getting everyone back into the school routine. We know that the new bus routes have been particularly challenging for some families as our new bus company drivers learn their routes. While we know there are still some problems that need fixing, each day gets a bit better and students get to school and home closer to on time each day.

Please read the update below as there are important things for you to be aware of. Please note in particular our start time. Students should be in class by 7:35 each morning so they can eat breakfast and get started with their learning.

We have two new ways to contact us when your child is absent:

Please leave your student's name, grade level, the date of the absence, and the reason for the absence in your message.

Emails and voicemails can be left at any time of day.

Reminder: If your student is absent, please contact us using one of the ways above by 8:00 am on the day of the absence.

Students may be dropped off between 7:20 AM and 7:35 AM

Students must be picked up by 2:35 PM *Note earlier time

All students must be in uniform every day at Northeast College Prep.

Additional uniform shirts can be puchased in the main office. We accept cash, check or credit card for payment.

This year, Northeast College Prep will have an app that families can use to track their student's bus route to and from school. The app is called Here Comes the Bus. The app will also allow us to send messages when there are bus delays.

To get the app, download Here Comes the Bus from your device's app store. To gain access to your student's route information, you will need their last name, their student ID, and the district code (which is 30004). You should be receiving a letter in the mail that contains your child's student ID and their bus route information, including bus stop location, bus stop pick up and drop off times, and bus route number. If your student is riding the bus and you don't receive your letter, please call our office at 612-248-8240.

So far, we have 46 parents that have accounts set up. Please consider adding the app to your phone to help with bus tracking.

Northeast College Prep will start using a new messaging system this summer. We will be using Parent Square. You can download the app on your phone or we can send messages to your email or text message. If you currently have the Reachwell app downloaded, you may delete it as we will no longer be using that app.

To get started, download the Parent Square app from your app store (Android or iPhone). You should receive an invitation from Northeast College Prep. You will need to enter either an email or phone number and it must match the information we have on file to get into the app. If you need a new invite, please call our office at 612-248-8240.

Families will also be able to choose their preferred language of communication once they download the app.

We are still accepting applications for students to attend Northeast College Prep for the 2024-2025 school year! Applications can be found on our website and are available in English, Spanish, Somali, and Arabic.
